Reading Room

Welcome to the reading program at Alturas! 

Alturas Elementary is a Title 1 school, which means we are given federal funding to support our reading services. We have two certified reading specialists and one paraprofessional. We work closely with classroom teachers and our English as a New Language (ENL) teachers to determine how we can best help students develop their reading skills. Students who are showing difficulties with reading are given extra reading help during their school day. We offer this extra reading support to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
